I have written two stories noting the possible auction of Whistler-Blackcomb the host ski resort for the 2010 Winter Olympics. I just discovered another ski resort held by Intrawest: Blue Mountain.
Blue Mountain seems to be a bigger resort than the ones around here reporting 728′ of vertical which is less than 100′ more than Indianhead.
While I have never skied Blue Mountain I have seen it. I went to the beach with family in Canada and across the bay I saw the telltale cuts through the woods indicating SKI RUNS! I was going to consider Blue Mountain for a possible visit, but it seems to me that if I want to ski such a hill, I can do that here. Sorry Blue Mountain and I hope the auction thing works out for you.
