Iron River’s Riverside Pizza

By: In: Après Ski

Ahhhh, a hard day of bending boards gets a guy hungry, even if they have a great big Youper Omelet for breakfast.

I have dined in Riverside Pizza in the past but it was years ago and have long forgotten about that experience and about the only thing I could remember was thin crust pizza.

Anyway, Riverside Pizza was easier to find than the breakfast joint. How was it?

The Hot Tub Time Machine Review

By: In: Après Ski

Here is my full review of Hot Tub Time Machine. I password protect the post (password: SPOILER) to force you to make a very conscious decision to read it, in case you want to see the movie.

In a nutshell here is my opinion of the movie: I missed a NCAA March Madness game, and I miss my money; wait for this movie to hit the second run theaters or for it to appear on late night TV.

Going to miss me when I’m gone…
Good Time Specials Bluegrass

We stopped at Ski Brule on Sunday (March 14, 2010) to deliver a CD of photos I had previously taken. We did not just drop off the CD and leave, but we went to the Bear Lodge and had a few drinks. On the porch, Good Time Specials was setup and playing music. The weather was fantastic and it all made for a very pleasant experience.

A Pot of Chili!

By: In: Après Ski, Skiing

Who does not like a good bowl of chlli? I don’t know if I should put a question mark after that or an exclamation, what is it? I do not like to do both but either would fit there.

I make a great pot of chili. While I am supposedly disqualified as a chili maker because the Wisconsin Chili Cook may sound as strange to some as The Wisconsin Skier, I have it down!

Slow Cooking

By: In: Après Ski

After a hard day of skiing you may not want to cut, chop, slice, dish, mash, grind, brown, fry, grill, and so on and so forth.

After Ski Before Fire -- Building a fireAfter ski before fire.

One of the treats of skiing is being around fireplaces. We all enjoy them but very few of us have them.

Fortunately, that is one amenity The Wisconsin Skier International Headquarters has, both locations. Not only do I have fireplaces I have wood fireplaces. As I have noted before, wood fireplaces add a little extra ambiance gas and electric fireplaces can not add.

Superbowl Weekend

By: In: Après Ski

In addition to being an avid skier I am a football fan.

When I was young, I played the game with my brother and the kid next door. I recall some fairly serious games on the playground in grade school too. I took a few snaps and I was surprised how different it is when there is a determined rush. One of my playmates told me he thought I handled the pressure wel, I dunno.

In any event, that is the summary of my football career.
