I can put up one or more pictures or I can write thousands of words and none of that will do as well as simply saying: MERRY CHRISTMAS, have a safe and enjoyable one.

I have been getting undelivered mail notices of late, a lot of them from France. Please know it was not myself that sent them, but an e-mail I use for this site is being put into the reply-to addresses of the spams. The Wisconsin Skier does not engage in such activity nor condone it and I view myself as much a victim of it as you.

No, this is not talking of bad employees or colleagues, I am talking of having employees involved with your social media program. Not an employee or employees who run(s) it, but employees from other areas of the company.
Recently at my current client their featured intranet article was on their need for employees to refrain from participating in their social media conversations. The article said following or liking was okay, but not to participate in discussions. This shows the client takes that feedback seriously and wants it to be genuine grass-roots and not AstroTurf.

The other day I wrote a post on on how my attitude on Twitter followers has changed with time.
This article elicited some favorable feedback so I oblige my readership and explore this some more. The tool I have used most recently is called Twitter Karma. Twitter Karma has a pretty decent interface on showing you who follows you, who you follow, and mutual follows.
As I said in the last post, I no longer automatically rfollow. I look at the person following and evaluate on a number of my interests, goals, and the overall value of that person.

I read some opinions on whom one should follow and should not.
The rule of thumb for many people is to rfollow and one site I read today said to do just that. Another site, said nope, automatic rfollowing defeats the whole purpose of twitter. I guess this invites the question, what do you use twitter for and how do you decide who to follow and whom to not follow?

Ufda! It has been a long off-season.
I am starting to post pieces again and it is taking some time to re-acquaint myself with the various procedures and customs I established last year. No doubt some of those customs and procedures are lost as I did not “document” any of them and have essentially been winging it. However, since the beginning of this year through April sometime I was putting up at least a post per day I had fell into some routines and patterns.
I am anxious to start falling back into them here and developing new ones!

The Wisconsin Skier is open for business again or perhaps it is better to say, getting ready for business again.
I have some updates in mind for the site and some new features in mind. I will not say what they are until they are near completion.

Now, we are done with the hows and have a good handle on the whys.
Now we move onto the whats (you can do with your backups). True, they can save you in case of disaster, but I use my backups for more than just disaster recovery.
