A Confession

If you have a blog or ever dabbled in blogging you know how blogging for bucks makes gardening in the desert seem easy. It is not that easy and ad-revenue is tough to earn. In fact, my experiences indicate the more I write the less revenue I earn from the advertising.

So, when I came across a post today, passed on by a friend it noted that blogs and writing should not be your main product, that your blog should support some sort of product or service of real value to people. I like to think my writing is a real product, but I know better I am not going to be winning any prizes for my writing.

For Love of Skiing

I Corinthians 13:1-3:

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.

What the h-e-double hockey sticks is a Biblical passage doing here for? Especially, when I have used the Church Lady as an epithet?

There is a Time

That last paragraph of yours got me to thinking. I’ve been working on trying to live in the moment. Your analogy really describes how I use to live most of my life. Worrying about that last hill back home. Thanks for the food for thought. Have a great day!

This was in response to my post on Bicycling. In it, I noted that I have no problem riding out on the trail near my house, because it is all a gradual grade downhill. The trip back is uphill so it is more difficult than the trip out. I play a little mental game when riding the return leg and that is I imagine myself at the next road and not at home. This makes it easier and provides me with a mental boost.

Most should recognize what I am doing, I am dividing the task into smaller and easier to accomplish tasks!

April 1 – September 30

I focus on Winter sports, but we all know astronomical and meteorological Winter are done. What does this mean? It means my focus will shift from skiing to other things. My writing will consist of a grab bag of topic from ski-dreaming, to biking, to gardening, to photography, to making firewood, to IT and web design, and working behind the scenes for next season.

I have set a goal for myself to maintain a 1 post/day rate.
