Putting a Hit on Life!

By: In: The Last Ride

English teachers try to teach their students the difference between passive and active voices. What voice is that?

Our English teachers tried to teach us the difference between passive and active voices. How about that one, what voice?

This is not a writing lesson though, this is an attempt to try to encourage you to do to life, instead of having life do to you! Do not worry about life doing to us, life will get its licks in, how about you, will you get your licks on life in?

Till Death Do Us Part

By: In: The Last Ride

Last night from roughly 10:00 pm through 11:00 pm, at the international headquarters of The Wisconsin Skier we experienced a thunderstorm. Being that I was in and out of serious sleep I did not know of the severity of that storm, but reports throughout the day indicated the storm was a nasty one. We are always measured by others, by our peers, by our subordinates, and by our superiors and even in our personal lives we have to navigate life around the gates imposed by others.

How many of us turn off the autopilot and really take charge of our lives, our finances, our health, our relationships, our…?

We all fall into that trap from time to time. We find something comfortable and it may even really suit our needs. The Grateful Dead in Uncle John’s Band sings:

When life looks like Easy Street
there is danger at your door
Think this through with me

I was at the below concert where the Grateful Dead performs this rendition of Uncle John’s Band: (be sure to read the rest of the post below the fold)
