Universal Sports is Off the Air

Alpine and Nordic Programming Moves to NBC Sports

Universal Sports is off the Air
FIS Alpine Skiing to move to NBC sports, now about the cycling!

Well the least anticipated event of November has come to pass — Universal Sports is no longer broadcasting. However, we see this on Twitter:

It’s official! @NBCSports plans on airing the ENTIRE @fisalpine World Cup tour. http://bit.ly/1MN94le

The USSA PR does not say with 100% certitude the entire set of FIS Alpine events will be broadcast but it notes that other Alpine and Noridc events will fill out the roster of their winter sport broadcasting.

NBC Sports to Carry World Cup Skiing
Hope they Carry Cycling Aplenty Too!
I am much more at ease than I was even a few days ago but I am still concerned about the cycling. NBC Sports already does a good job with the Tour de France, but that is not the only cycling I am accustomed to watching. Early in the pro season I was able to watch bike racing right along aside the FIS Alpine racing.

No word if Steven Porino and Doug Lewis will continue to call the action, my guess is they will. Another benefit is I can now drop the extra package I had been carrying on DirecTV just for Universal Sports.

Good Stuff!
