DUE TO EXTREME COLD, REGIONAL RESORTS SUSPEND SNOW OPERATIONS
Due to the extreme cold moving into the upper Midwest region snow resorts are suspending operations, the below notice comes from Indianhead Mountain and is typical of others I have seen:
DUE TO UNSAFE, EXTREME COLD AND DANGEROUS WIND CHILLS, INDIANHEAD WILL BE CLOSED FOR SKIING SUNDAY, JANUARY 5 AND MONDAY, JANUARY 6.
Due to extreme cold temperatures, dangerously low wind chills and unsafe conditions for our employees and guests, Indianhead Mountain Resort has decided to suspend all lift and outside hill operations for Sunday, January 5, and Monday January 6, 2014. The safety and well being of Indianhead guests and employees is our primary concern for making this decision. We do anticipate resuming normal lift service operations on Tuesday January 7. However, we willcontinue to monitor the weather forecast and will make a decision relative toTuesday as forecast information become more reliable. We sincerely apologize for any inconveniences this may cause.
Call ahead if you are planning to do any skiing or snowboarding on Sunday January 5 or Monday January 6, 2014.
